A male high school student recently competed in the great leap at the national inside track meet in Boston, placing her 10th overall. This is the latest in a long line of elbowing female athletes.  ,
Lizzy Cohen Bidwell, a resident of Connecticut and the mother of Lucas, qualified for the national meet by placing first in the girls ‘ high jump at the regional meet.
Bidwell, a high school junior from West Hartford, Connecticut, competed as one of six sexual athletes representing the position March 10 in the great leap at the New Balance Nationals Indoor meet.  ,
At the CIAC State Open Indoor Track and Field Championships, the male athlete placed third in the girls ‘ high jump and fifth in the girls ‘ long jump on February 17.

Bidwell was one of two trans athletes at the regional meet to defeat female competitors in the great leap.
Maelle Jacques, a natural male from New Hampshire, placed 14th in the event at last week’s nationwide. Jacques qualified by winning the ladies ‘ higher leap Feb. 11 at the country’s Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 tournament.  ,

Bidwell placed in the Connecticut State Championship’s higher jump and much jump competitions, putting her in front of a female competitor in both events, and qualified for the New England local interior monitor championship. For unidentified motives, the athlete did n’t thrive as scheduled in the female ‘ much jump.  ,
Bidwell’s higher jump of 5 feet, 9 inches at the local made the natural male the highest- ranked “female” performer of , 2024 for inside track at Connecticut high schools. Nationally, he ranks fifth- best among high school girls in the high jump.  ,
If Bidwell had competed in the boys ‘ high jump, however, the athlete would n’t have cleared the height of 6 feet, 1 inch needed to qualify.
Bidwell’s parents legally changed his name from Lucas to Lizzy between ages 9 and 10, Reduxx reported.  ,
A biological female won an award for her entry in the girls ‘ category at the regional, according to Bidwell. The athlete won the Special New England Championship title on March 2 and received the honor of first place.  ,
Boys are taking the place of girls in national sporting events aimed at female athletes all over the country.  ,
