Former White House assistant Peter Navarro, who was under President Donald Trump’s administration, is expected to be the first former official to be imprisoned for contempt of Congress after receiving a report to jail by Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Supreme Court rejected the former Trump consultant’s request to be free while appealing his event, leading to Navarro’s scheduled prison.
The 74-year-old former White House assistant was found guilty in January of contempt of Congress after refusing to testify and provide documents to the Jan. 6 Committee regarding an reported plan to reverse the presidential election in 2020. In consequence, the former Trump consultant received a four-month prison sentence.
Next month, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit refused to grant the past Trump consultant’s request to be free while appealing his situation. According to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Navarro “has not demonstrated that his appeal raises significant issues of law or fact good” to overturn his conviction or jail sentence.
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts also , denied , Navarro’s appeal ask in a simple decision on Monday.
” The application for release pending appeal under 18 U. S. C. §3143 ( b ) is denied”, Roberts wrote. This program is merely concerned with whether the claimant, Peter Navarro, has carried out his obligation to demonstrate his right to comfort under the Bail Reform Act.

Roberts explained that the United States Court of Appeals had previously rejected Navarro’s plea because the former Trump consultant “‘forgot’ any argument in this launch proceeding contesting the District Court’s decision.”
Roberts continued,” I see no reason to disagree with the finding that Navarro forfeited those claims in the transfer moving, which is different from his pending charm on the qualities.”
After being charged with contempt of Congress, Navarro’s legitimate team argued that the former White House assistant was may not agree with the Jan. 6 Committee’s lawsuit in light of professional opportunity. Navarro told U. S. District Judge Amit Mehta,” When I received that parliamentary subpoena… I had an honest opinion that the pleasure had been invoked”.
But, Navarro was sentenced in January, according to The Washington Post, because he lacked the necessary evidence to establish that Trump intended to use professional opportunity to prevent Navarro from giving testimony. Also, the former senator has not officially confirmed Navarro’s claims.
The former White House assistant is scheduled to report to a national prison in Miami by 2 p.m. on Tuesday following the Supreme Court’s decision to accept his request to be completely while he appeals his situation.
