Last year, an illegal refugee on the terror watchlist was detained in North Carolina after engaging in a shooting spree at a nearby business and attacking police officers who arrived on the scene.

According to WAVY Television 10, Awet Hagos, a 32- year- ancient illegal immigrant from Africa, has been charged with three counts of assaulting a government official, three counts of resisting a common officer, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Officers responded to a Quick Stop convenience store, according to The Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, where Hagos was discovered shooting a weapon. Despite coroner’s deputies using firearms on the American regional, the 32-year-old illegal immigrant allegedly attacked law enforcement officers.

According to Gates County Sheriff Ray Campbell,” Upon introduction, the delegates and a Trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol attempted to take the suspect into custody.” The suspect, however, became very aggressive and once attempted to subdue a lieutenant with their weapon. The suspect next veered into a little tent close to the company to the left.

After a “four hours standoff,” Campbell explained that legislation enforcement eventually managed to apprehend Hagos. According to Campbell, Hagos was taken to the Albermarle District Jail, where he is still held on a$ 100, 000 bond. The deputy added that the illegal immigrant is still being investigated and that more charges could be brought against him.

According to The Daily Wire, U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) has notified the Gates County Sheriff’s Office that Hagos is on the Terrorist Screening Dataset, which is also referred to as the terror watchlist.

According to WAVY Television 10, Hagos is alleged to have previously resided in Haiti after moving from an area in Africa close to the Yemeni borders. Due to his arrest, Hagos is said to have resided in California before moving to North Carolina for about six months.

According to The Daily Wire, ICE officers have requested a detainer from Hagos, suggesting that the Enforcement and Removal Operations section of the agency might be waiting to arrest the 32-year-old improper refugee.

In a text to President Joe Biden, Lt. Gov. Regarding the reports that Hagos is on the terror watchlist, Mark Robinson (R-N. C. ) requested confirmation. Additionally, Robinson pressed the Trump administration to provide concrete details about the most recent occurrence.

Are there any more unlawful immigrants on the North Carolina criminal watch list? Robinson asked. ” We deserve answers to these questions”.
