Pennsylvania Gov. This past month, Josh Shapiro unveiled his multi-pronged power program. Republicans said it is dying on arrival.
The Democratic Governor and House Republicans are at odds with one another over ensuring reliable, cheap energy while taking “real action to address climate change” to protect and create power work.
Part of Mr. Shapiro’s plan is the Pennsylvania Climate Emissions Reduction ( PACER ) Act, which would create Pennsylvania’s own” carbon cap and invest” program. Similar to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which limits the amount of fossil fuel power that businesses can make before purchasing a pricey force or trading funds, is this program.
The force cost is passed on to customers. RGGI has a local cover across 11 state. PACER may create a power manufacturing cap only for Pennsylvania. If the Legislature passes PACER, Gov. Shapiro says, he does eradicate Pennsylvania from RGGI….
