Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio responded to GOP expert Kellyanne Conway’s guidance on abortion by urging legislators to introduce Democrat militancy in a timely manner.
Last year, Conway urged Republican to prevent highlighting that their Democratic opponents support , unfettered miscarriages of newborn infants, though Democratic Party leaders and most Democratic politicians have  , repeatedly refused , to identify any protections for the pregnant that they would help.
Her advice is a noticeable shift from what the pro- life movement has focused on as of late — important pro- life groups, quite as Susan B. Anthony Pro- Life America,  , encourage , Republicans to emphasize Democratic extremism on abortion.
Rubio had also urged Republicans, in a January memo initially reported by The Daily Signal, to join a three- bladed approach: to fight for a pro- family agenda, to highlight Democrat extremism on the issue, and to tell the truth about the horrors of abortion.
He also , emphasized to his colleagues , that Republicans have the moral high ground on the issue, one that deals with the killing of an unborn child.
Pro-life advocates should remember that protecting unborn people is the moral center and goal of our movement, and we ca n’t be shy to say that,” he said. No pro-life strategy should be associated with the phrase” no one wants to advocate just limits on abortion.”
On Tuesday, Rubio reiterated this stance.
The Florida Republican told The Daily Signal that” the pro-life movement’s moral center and goal is to protect life.”
The senator continued,” We should not be afraid to expose the extremism of Democratic lawmakers and pro-choice advocates, who think it should be permitted to kill children until the moment of birth.”
Conway had outlined a political strategy for abortion during Politico’s Health Care Summit last week, in which she also touched on her support for both TikTok and in vitro fertilization.
Conway emphasized that she is” 100 % pro- life” and encouraged Democratic lawmakers and commentators to” stop being science- deniers” and” stop pretending you do n’t know what you see on a sonogram”. She noted that when polled more granularly about abortion, Americans were both in favor of protecting unborn babies who could experience pain and support of abortion exceptions.
But Conway, who formerly served as Donald Trump’s senior adviser, also said that she does not encourage Republicans to point out that their opponents , support abortion up until birth.
” Notice how I did not say, and counsel clients against saying,’ Democrats are for abortion up until the moment of birth.’ You are aware of why that’s not the best way to say it. she asked. Nobody knows anyone who is about to give birth and says,” You know what?” I do n’t really like stretch marks. I’m not entirely prepared to have a second person in my life. I changed my mind.’ Nobody has ever met anyone like that.
Conway then made the implication that Trump was speaking metaphorically when he, in response to failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, said,” If you go with what Hillary is saying, you can take the baby out of the womb just before the baby’s birth, you can take the baby out of the womb.”
” That’s sort of a metaphor for who is really extreme here, and people reflexively said,’ Oooh, could that be true?’ And I think it changed a lot of the conversation”, Conway explained. She did not respond to inquiries for more information right away.
