The name” Orwellian” is used in modern social discourse. That’s because George Orwell’s typical futuristic novel’s authoritarian regime is a simple evaluation to anything the loudspeaker wants to argue against in the current political debate.  ,
Often, however, the comparison is absolutely justified, such as when politicians try to defame their opponents and use language to stifle political discourse.
For instance, extreme progressives use the phrase “decency” to cover up officially repugnant and ethically repugnant materials found in the hands of school-age children.
This is exactly what is happening at the Maryland General Assembly right now. A few weeks ago, the speaker of the House of Delegates, Adrienne Jones, D- Baltimore County, announced what she calls her “decency agenda“.
What might be amiss with that? After all, British politics could definitely use more civility.  ,
And, to her credit, Jones ‘ staff is very adept at selling her intended “decency” position.
I do n’t want Marylanders to reject what I do or put in a denuclear stand. We know that we did not agree on anything, and we should n’t”, the speaker said in her statement. ” To me, civility is about value. Value for our neighborhood, co- workers, buddies, and families”.
Most politicians would leave their jobs in a heartbeat, but if they had to name their bills and agendas so exactly that they could describe what they had in them, they would.
In truth, Jones ‘ “decency” plan is only smart marketing. Perhaps a fleeting glance beneath the surface reveals what this entire situation is really about.
The “decency plan” includes some “nondiscrimination” bills. One example is the Freedom to Read Act, which would obstruct native books that receive state funding from regulating or limiting access to sexual material.
I’m no exaggerating. Anyone who is paying attention to the debates over the content of public school libraries over the past few years, including all the “book banning” claims, is , aware of the caliber of smut that the dramatic progressives are trying to impose on our children.
In reality, this bill actually grants entry to “indecent materials,” which is the term used by the Maryland Code to illustrate this kind of stuff. So we come up with the appropriate definition of the word” Orwellian.”
Jones may as well have declared,” War is serenity. Flexibility is slavery. Knowledge is strength”.
After all, if exposing college- age children to sexually obvious materials is now the “decent” thing to do in Maryland, next words have no meaning again.
Let’s get clear about this: There is nothing “decent” about sexualizing our young kids. The ostensibly global fascination with doing so among some common school officials is beyond disturbing.
Public schools may become focused on teaching reading, writing, math, and critical thinking so that our children may develop in the real world. They should not be focused on empowering children with physical components and ideologies to match the vested interests of those in Annapolis, Maryland, and Washington, D. C.  ,
This is n’t just about books in school libraries, that’s just another steppingstone along the way. The single things standing between where we are and where the extreme progressives want to go are the tried- and- real institutions of legal society—family, religion, and frequent decency.  ,
The democrats in Annapolis are doing everything in their power to undermine those organizations and undermine our society’s foundations.
But that’s precisely what this is all about: if children in our schools do n’t talk about sexual ethics and values with their families, the progressives ca n’t tolerate that.  ,
What are people of faith and those who follow standard beliefs then expected to adapt to this change and challenge it? We ca n’t confront deception with deception. We’ll had to put our weight where it belongs and fight it out for it.
These are problems on our ideas, our beliefs, and our children. Although the radicals may reject what we hold, we cannot resurrect this antagonism with even more anger. True to our cousin, loving him means telling the truth.  ,
Above all, we must continue to hold our heads above water in our convictions and stand up for real morality. Our children, our communities, and our potential depend on it.
