Supreme Court Refuses Injunction Against Apple Over Its App Store

An order against Apple that might have permissive access to the distribution of phone apps outside the bank’s exclusive App Store was denied by the Supreme Court.
Apple had filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging it had broken competitive rules, but the 9th Circuit’s U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit decided to dismiss it late last month.
The Supreme Court’s decision came after the European Union’s antitrust authority fined Apple 1.8 billion euros ( about$ 1.95 billion ) on March 4 for unfair trading policies.
In 2023, the German Commission charged Apple with preventing Spotify and other streaming services from letting people know about different repayment options available outside Apple’s App Store.
