93-Year-Old Godfreys Chain to Close All Stores, Lay Off Staff Immediately

Godfreys, an American merchant, will immediately shut down all of its stores and fire 25 head office employees.
After no acceptable proposals were received for the 93-year-old company, the vacuum cleaner string will get phased out between now and May 31.
Craig Crosbie, a lover for PwC Australia, stated on March 20 that despite receiving 55 expressions of curiosity and six preliminary presents, none were sufficient to secure the company’s future.
Following a thorough search for a buyer for the organization that may keep the store network trading, Godfrey’s had hoped for this outcome, he said.
The closing of all remaining shops will proceed over the next eight weeks if there are no more bids coming forward as continuous trading continues.
