On Thursday, the Department of Justice ( DOJ) and 16 states filed a civil lawsuit against Apple Inc., alleging that the business is illegally monopolizing the smartphone market.
The Court and 16 state attorneys general claimed Apple attempted to control opposition, which harms consumers, small companies, and game developers via the agency’s App Store and other Apple functions. According to Apple, the company has long placed stringent limitations on what can be downloaded from its App Store in an effort to protect people ‘ privacy and security.
However, the wide lawsuit accuses Apple of a number of illegal behaviors, alleging that it regulates digital wallets, automotive services, and news services, and imposes restrictions on third-party apps. Additionally, it asserts that the Cupertino, California-based tech giant areas restrictions on communications sent from an phone to a non-iPhone person in its default messaging service.
