Elon Musk’s brain-chip business Neuralink recorded its first sufferer receiving a chip using his mind to enjoy online chess on Wednesday.
Noland Arbaugh, a 29-year-old patient who suffered a jumping accident and was paralyzed below the shoulder, used a Neuralink system to chess and moved the cursor. The implant aims to let individuals use only their thoughts to control a computer keyboard or mouse.
According to Mr. Musk, Mr. Arbaugh had an transplant from the business in January and could use his thoughts to control a computer mouse.
