According to a , a fresh surveys, the majority of Palestinians want Hamas to keep control of the Gaza Strip after its conflict with Israel is over.
According to the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, a nonprofit organization that monitors public opinion in the West Bank and Gaza,” Gazans ‘ support for continued Hamas control over the Gaza Strip has increased to more than 50 %, a 14-point increase” over the past few months. This appears to be the most incongruent conclusion of the whole poll given the magnitude of the anguish in the Gaza Strip.
The survey, which polled 1,580 people in early March, revealed that “almost all Palestinians believe that Hamas is not guilty of war acts in the current warfare,” a figure that has remained constant throughout the issue.
In comparison to three months ago, Hamas’s evil assault on Israel fell by 11 points in the West Bank, but the number rose by 14 points among those who live in Gaza, which is a war-torn region.
A rising amount of Palestinians in Gaza say they expect Hamas to succeed as the battle rages on into its fifth month, an increase of about one-third since the last survey was conducted in December. In Gaza, about 38 percent of people say they anticipate the conflict to persist despite American and international efforts to end the conflict between Hamas and Israel.
” When asked about their own choices for the party that should be in command in the Gaza Strip after the war, 59 percent , ( 64 percent in the West Bank and 52 percent in the Gaza Strip ) selected Hamas”, the ballot found.
Help for” the transfer of Hamas” in the Gaza Strip “reaches 63 cent, with a 7- level increase in the Gaza Strip compared to just 2- point increase in the West Bank”.
Only 38 percent of those in Gaza said they supported continued Hamas power three months ago, while 75 % of those in the West Bank said the same thing. Hamas’s help decreased by 11 positions in the West Bank compared to the previous three months, but both sets of Palestinians still largely continue to back Hamas’s initial terror attack on Israel.
One of the most interesting findings of the current poll is that the Gazans ‘ choices have changed, with a 14-point increase in their choice of Hamas now.  ,” But it is consistent with the improve, indicated above, in the proportion of Gazans who think Hamas did get the latest battle”.
Palestinians ‘ opinions of Hamas ‘ performance during the war “remain stable at 70 %,” with West Bank residents receiving slightly higher ratings of satisfaction. Sixty- two percentage of those in Gaza said they remain contented with Hamas’s efficiency.
” Help for Hamas, while really firm for the full, has in fact dropped in the West Bank by 10 points, from 85 percent three months ago to 75 percent today”, according to the poll. ” The opposite happened in the Gaza Strip: satisfaction with Hamas increased by 10 points”.
Palestinian Authority government support continues to be historically underfunded. Only 11 % of those who supported the Palestinian Authority while Abbas was in power and 13 % who opposed it.
When questioned about who is most likely to rule the Gaza Strip when the conflict ends, 59 % of respondents said Hamas, including 63 percent of those in the West Bank and 52 % of those in Gaza.
