A 30- yr- old human accused of stealing virtually$ 600, 000 value of computer equipment from , Navy , ships over a nine- month period pleaded guilty in national court on Tuesday, according to prosecutors.
Ernesto Saldivar, a worker at General Dynamics NASSCO in Barrio Logan and a member of the ships ‘ development work, allegedly stole hundreds of items from declassified locations on the USS Pinckney, USS Curtis Wilbur, and USS Spruance.
Saldivar finally sold the products, including two hard drives containing military conversation, online.
His plea agreement states he stole$ 596, 977.53 worth of items between , November 2022 , and , August 2023, receiving$ 2, 584.98 in payment from eBay sales of the stolen goods.
” Stealing from our military does n’t just hurt the taxpayer, it puts our national security and service members at risk”, said , U. S.  , Attorney , Tara McGrath. ” We did do our part to make sure our service members may believe the civilians standing by their part,” the government said.
