U. S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez ( D- NY ) said that former President Donald Trump orchestrated a “terrorist harm” on January 6 during an appearance on CNN’s” State Of The Union”.
” What do you say to an independent vote or an ordinary voter who looks at what’s going on with Donald Trump”? Tapper asked before listing the number of politically motivated civil and criminal cases targeting the former senator. ” What do you say to a voter who says, well, that does n’t look like he’s being treated equally before the law that looks like somebody that the government is going after”?
” Has there ever been a senator, Republican or Democrat that has been content to this level of criminal fees, charges, and examinations? This is not about group. This is not about elections. This is about fraud and criminality”, the much- left congressman replied. ” We’re talking about an individual who ordered largely a terrorist attack on the Capital of the United States in order to maintain power. That, that is not about being a Republican. It is not about being a Democrat. It’s about being an immoral person who is assignment and prone to criminality”.
Ocasio- Cortez has consistently exaggerated the amount of the January 6 Capitol protest and later small riot. In the weeks following the incident, the” club” Democrat gave a number of interviews in which she claimed she feared for her life.
” You have all of those emotions where, at the end of your lifestyle, and all of these emotions come rushing to you. And that’s what happened to a lot of us on Wednesday”, Ocasio- Cortez said at the occasion. ” I did not know if I was going to make it to the conclusion of that day alive”. She went on to say that a number of her acquaintances and parliamentary staffers “were about killed”.
Her extraordinary claims have faced major reaction since it was revealed that Ocasio- Cortez was not even in the building at the time of the small mob.
The congresswoman’s speech on January 6 represents a perfect turnaround from her position on the Black Lives Matter race protests in 2020. ” The entire point of protesting is to make individuals uncomfortable”, AOC said of the unrest that caused billions of dollars in estate damage, forced subsequently- President Trump into a vault and more than 20 deaths.
