Adams was scheduled to leave Saturday evening and attend Brownsville and McCallen, Texas, two locations situated on the U. S. Mexico border.
But Adams representative Amaris Cockfield said that the U. S. State Department flagged health problems at a designed halt in Mexico, causing the journey to be postponed, according to the Associated Press.
The Democrat, who has drawn regional attention to New York City due to the high number of refugees entering his capital, was going to join with U. S. immigration officers as his capital problems with the flow.
” As Lent draws to a close, our group was excited to have with trust and humanitarian officials who have dedicated their lives to serving the most poor among us and we were eager to discuss our work in New York City and discover new ways to work with officials in cities across the country”, Cockfield told the outlet.
She said Adams will continue partnering with the groups to find” concrete solutions” to the southern border crisis.

Adams visited El Paso in January, and criticized the federal government’s response to illegal immigration.
In a visit to El Paso, Texas, in January, Adams offered up a blistering criticism of the federal government’s response to the increase of immigrants into U. S. cities far from the border. More than 180, 000 migrants have entered New York City since spring 2022.
