Gov. Gavin Newsom ( D- CA ) went on a full advertising and country tour touting California’s” triumphs”, yet California remains the worst- controlled state in the country.
California now has the nation’s highest unemployment rate, falling behind Nevada by 3,400 nonfarming work to take the top spot with a 5.3 % poverty level. However, California’s employment growth forecast of 58, 100 tasks in January was revised down to 25, 600, less than half the original measure.
A former chairman of the California Employment Development Department, which calculates those numbers, said that COVID- 19 quarantine orders were also hampering California’s work business, along with the state’s costly number of regulations. California is stifling its own success, and it does so in part because of Newsom’s and his Democrat congressional supermajority’s choices.

California, by just about any metric you choose, is a failing state. It enjoys just about every natural advantage over other states: no humidity (unlike those states to the east ), diverse geography ( beaches, mountains, forests, and deserts to fill any of your recreational desires ), and no severe weather events outside of occasional small earthquakes ( no hurricanes or tornados ). Without the support of a single major decisionmaker, Newsom and the Democratic Party, who are the state’s ruling party, are unable to come up with any plausible explanation for why someone would love to live in California.
Newsom and the California Democratic Party are stomping on the ground while presenting their leadership as a model for Democrats across the nation.
