In recent months, more aircraft explosions have caused injuries, including the one in Compton. In December, an 18- walker mower- truck crashed into the Oak Avenue rail bridge in Glenville, New York. An explosion that caused the 18-wheeler to start shooting flames as high as 200 feet into the air caused the vehicle to be carrying pressed natural gas.
At the time of the 18- walker blast, Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle , reportedly-with-propane-tanks-explodes-after-hitting-glenville-bridge/”>told WNYT,” It’s a major explosion. It’s by far the worst gate hit — by much”. The December blast caused numerous power outages over the weekend and caused individuals to evacuate from their homes, according to The New York Post.
According to WNYT, the pilot, 60-year-old Sylvester Basil Jr., had third-degree burns to his hands and face, which he was then taken to a nearby health facility for treatment.
