Sarah Michitsch, CWS Harrisburg’s Resettlement Supervisor, had the opportunity to take part in two thought-provoking board discussions that illuminated essential elements of immigration reform on March 14.
The second panel, which included participants Rep. Lloyd Smucker and Rep. Henry Cuellar, answered questions about republican bills aimed at reforming immigration laws. The need to upgrade the temporary status system to better accommodate and pleasant migrant workers, provide border security, and provide pathways for existing undocumented migrants was one of the topics discussed. It was a lively conversation that highlighted a nonpartisan effort to address the complexity of emigration reform.
Following this, the following section convened, featuring members from the U. S. Chamber of Commerce alongside another important business leaders. This conversation focused on the urgent need for more immigrant staff to meet the demands of the present job market.  ,
Sarah took the opportunity to network with companies like Ladies of Welcome and Bibles, Badges, and Business for Immigration Reform in addition to participating in these board conversations. These links allowed for the transfer of important insights and perspectives on lobbying for immigration reform in addition to providing marketing opportunities.
The acknowledgement of CWS Harrisburg’s extraordinary development and its compassionate approach to welcoming new neighbors was what stood out from the show’s conversations and networking meetings. Sarah’s relationships left a lasting impression, with participants expressing enthusiasm for the group’s commitment and awareness in its relocation efforts.
