On March 28th, Judge Lewis Kaplan will announce the FTX founder’s statement during a 9:30 a.m. hearing at the U.S. Courthouse in Lower Manhattan.
Jurors decided to indict Mr. Bankman-Fried on all seven crime and scam matters that the state attorneys charged him with in November 2023.
Mr. Bankman-Fried and his attorneys have repeatedly argued that he should n’t have spent more than six months in prison and that he did n’t intentionally do anything wrong. Mr. Bankman-Fried insisted in his trial testimony in October 2023 that he had used complex analytics to monitor the financial health of FTX and that subordinates who had acted against him without his knowledge and permission made costly errors.
