Immigration into the U.S. has risen so quickly that it outpaced federal projections” by decades,” according to a report from the Center for Immigration Studies ( CIS ) released on Thursday.
According to CIS, the Daily Caller News Foundation reports that there were 51.4 million refugees in the country as of February 2024, which is an increase from the previous record of 15.5 % of the population.
According to CIS authors Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, the U.S. Census Bureau released projections in November that predicted the share of foreign-born people in the U.S. would n’t rise to 15.5 % until at least 2039.
According to a CIS review of the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey ( CPS), the 15.5 % includes both immigrants who are legally resident in the United States and those who are undocumented or in the country illegally. About 25 % of the total number of foreign nationals living in the United States are illegal immigrants, with the remaining 75 % being legal residents.
” The huge range of emigration over the past three decades has implications for nearly every aspect of British society, including open coffers, the labour market, institutions, hospitals, and the balance of political power, to say nothing of whether we can assimilate this numerous people”, Camarota and Zeigler wrote in the research.
” This increase over just 38 months ( since President Joe Biden took office ) is unprecedented”, Camarota and Zeigler wrote. Looking at each administration indicates that expansion has significantly increased since the beginning of the Biden presidency compared to the increase seen during Trump’s or Obama’s administrations.
The Daily Caller provides information on specific instances of illegal immigration:
CIS reports that under the Biden administration exclusively, the number of refugees from the United States increased by 6.4 million. More than half of the 6.4 million people who are illegal immigrants are, according to estimates, illegal immigrants, which is more than the adult population size of 33 distinct says…
…Roughly 2 million migrant encounters were recorded at the southern border in fiscal year 2023, compared to approximately 1.7 million in fiscal year 2021, according , to Customs and Border Protection.
