
45 folks were traveling to an Easter event at the Zion Christian Church in South Africa on Thursday when a vehicle collided. The bus apparently fell approximately 164 feet before colliding with a bridge.
The passengers were traveling from Gaborone, Botswana, to the Zion Christian Church in Moria, South Africa, for an Easter conference, according to the South African Broadcasting Corporation ( SABC ). The accident killed 45 of the people, leaving just one victim. An eight-year-old woman was reportedly the victim of the incident, who was airlifted to a doctor with serious accidents.
The customer vehicle swerved off the side of the Mmamatlakala Bridge, falling roughly 164 legs into a valley before igniting in flames, according to the Limpopo municipal government in South Africa, according to Fox News.
Pictures posted on X, previously Online, display the remains of the vehicle following Thursday’s accident.
The Limpopo Transport Department stated in a statement obtained by CNN that reports claimed the bus slammed onto a steep edge, about 50 meters below the bridge, and caught flames. The ministry further stated that authorities were assisting in the recovery of the body of the passengers who died in the incident on Thursday.

A video shared by Reuters shows the fallout of Thursday’s tree fall, with officers responding at the scene of the accident.
” Some bodies burned beyond recognition”, the department said, adding that others were” trapped inside the debris and others ]are ] scattered on the scene”.
Following Thursday’s horrible vehicle accident, Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga expressed her “heartfelt apologies” to the families of the victims.
” I am expressing my condolences to the families who were impacted by the dreadful bus accident close to Mamatlakala. In this challenging moment, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Chikunga said. As more people are traveling on our streets this Easter weekend, we continue to advocate dependable moving at all times with increased awareness.
The Easter holiday is usually a very busy occasion for traveling in South Africa, according to Fox News. Also, the outlet noted that over 200 people were killed in auto accidents last year during the spring weekend.
