Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Ukraine’s leader and foreign minister, once appealed for more air defense systems from the United States, as Russian forces shelled the eastern Ukrainian town of Kharkiv, killing one person and killing 16, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

On March 27, at least three people were killed by Russian assaults in eastern and southern Ukraine, including the human killed in Kharkiv.

The strike in Kharkiv hit apartment complexes, Terekhov said on Telegram, &nbsp, describing it&nbsp, as “another work of terrible terror against Ukrainians”.

There were two attacks on a Kharkiv city district that severely damaged home facilities, according to Kharkiv governor Oleh Synyehubov.

According to Synyehubov, the Institute of Emergency Surgery and the five-story housing complexes were severely damaged.

Russian troops have escalated flying strikes on Ukraine in the past several months, targeting vital infrastructure, including power stations, in retaliation for dangerous detonations of Russia’s border areas.

In the southwestern area of Kherson, a 61- season- aged woman was killed in her house in a drone attack on a village, four children were among the wounded.

Authorities in the southeast of Nikopol reported that a 55-year-old man was killed by artillery fire, and that eight others were injured by a ballistic missile strike on Mykolayiv’s coastal territory in the wake of a Mykolayiv-related incident.

The Ukrainian armed forces&nbsp, said&nbsp, they shot down 10 out of 13 Shahed drones launched by Russia in the early hours of March 27. The drones were launched from Russia’s Kursk region and targeted the Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Sumy regions, the military said.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, speaking on March 27 in an online briefing, again called for urgent deliveries of air- defense systems.

The frequent use of ballistic missiles that can strike targets at extremely high speeds leaves little time for people to seek shelter and cause significant destruction is a peculiar feature of the current Russian attacks, according to Kuleba.

” Patriot and other similar systems are defensive by definition. They are designed to protect lives, not take them”, he said, referring to the U. S. made missiles.

Volodymry Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, also pleaded with the West to provide air defense systems, saying that Ukraine’s partners must “demonstrate sufficient political will” right now.

Ukraine has grown increasingly frustrated over the partisan differences that prevent the U.S. Congress from passing a sizable amount of military aid. The bill is still stalled because lawmakers are currently taking a two-week break for the Easter holiday.

Zelenskiy&nbsp, was in the Sumy region&nbsp, on March 27 to inspect the construction of defensive fortifications such as trenches, dugouts, and observation posts.

He also made a hospital visit to soldiers and presented awards to those who served in the 117th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.

Meanwhile, Moscow has vowed to respond to an escalation of strikes on its border regions.

Russia claimed on March 27 that Belgorod, the border city, had been targeted once more, and air defense systems had shot down 18 Ukrainian missiles. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belarus, claimed that the barrage left two people injured. In recent months, fatal attacks have increased in Belarus.
