Some state lawmakers want school chaplains as part of a ‘rescue mission’ for public education

In addition to lowering a youth’s mental health crisis, increasing staff retention, and providing spiritual care to students who ca n’t afford or access religious schools, advocates for legislation in more than a dozen states have proposed allowing spiritual chaplains to work in public schools.
