Twenty years ago, President George W. Bush, to encourage home buying, said,” We may throw light where there’s shadows, and trust where there’s despair in this region. And a big portion of it is how the country works up to encourage people to own their own homes. Some people think that motivation contributed to the Great Recession’s home mortgage mania. However, some financial experts who study the current real estate market are turning their heads and saying household ownership might not be the best financial choice.
The purchase of a home may not be the best financial choice for the American Dream in 2024, according to new research from CBRE, a global provider of commercial real estate services and investments. Mortgage payments are expected to outstrip rent for at least the next five years. …
