The candidate claims he never knew anything about it after years of being deeply ingrained in extreme politicians.
Third Circuit nominee Adeel Mangi, whose nomination is all but useless following three Democrat defections, is the victim of a violent right-wing smear campaign, according to the Biden White House and their supporters.
According to Jeff Zients, the White House’s chief of staff,” some Senate Republicans and their extraordinary allies are persistently smearing Adeel Mangi with false accusations.” Mangi, Sen. Cory Booker ( D., N. J. ) has been” trashed, smeared, and maligned,” according to a report from the Senate chamber on the verge of tears. And in the Atlantic, Mangi’s law partner, Gregory L. Diskant, lately seen filing an amnesty short to the Supreme Court pressing the magistrates to shove former president Donald Trump off the vote, writes that Mangi faces “opposition grounded in hate”.
Sounds poor.
They are discussing information from our own Chuck Ross’s news reports, as well as questions from Democratic lawmakers about Mangi’s involvement with the Center for Security, Race, and Rights at Rutgers Law School and the Alliance of Households for Justice, two extreme left-wing organizations.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is looking into holding an event at the 20th anniversary of the attacks on September 20 that featured Sami Al-Arian, who was found guilty of providing material support to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, at Rutgers University, where Mangi even contributed$ 6,500″ to resist bigotry and discrimination and to improve spiritual liberty.” It suffice to say that occasion was n’t far off from the rest of the center’s development or from the opinions of its chairman, law professor Sahar Aziz, whose X serve is rife with anti-Semitic insinuations.
That was n’t the problem Mangi raised when he left the advisory board in July of last year. Rather, he told Sen. Lindsey Graham ( R., S. C. ), he was entirely unaware of the center’s programming and of Aziz’s views, but” the academic research output of the Center for Security, Race and Rights had not matched what I personally felt were the most productive areas of academic focus to support civil rights litigation”. That must have shocked people incredibly.
It was the same account, according to Mangi, with the Alliance of People for Justice, on whose expert panel Mangi has served since 2019. The firm, which opposes “mass criminalization”, counts the local criminal Kathy Boudin—RIP—as a founding member and then runs a brotherhood in her honor. It organized a 2021 event to press for the release of six Black Panther and Black Liberation Army members —or “freedom fighters”, in its terms —serving life in prison for the murder of police officers. Suddenly, Mangi says he had no understanding of or insight into their software choices.
Mangi, a graduate of Harvard Law School and a partner in a light foot law firm, is either unscrupulous or utterly unaware.
Either trait qualifies as disqualifying for a would-be federal judge, and Mangi’s case, especially in light of what is happening at Rutgers, should serve as a wake-up call to all ambitious Leftists waiting patiently as colleges turn into Communist training camps. Democratic senators Jacky Rosen ( Nev. ), Catherine Cortez Masto ( Nev. ), and Joe Manchin ( W. Va. ) have enough sense to recognize Mangi’s record is disqualifying. If that’s a stain, we’ll take it.
