Washington | The picture that Donald Trump has shared features images from horror films like The Office of Foreign Affairs and footage of people allegedly entering the country from countries like Cameroon, Afghanistan, and China. Close-ups of people waving and wrapping themselves in British flags contrast with images of men with tattoo and clips of violent crime.

” They’re coming by the hundreds”, Mr Trump says in the film, posted on his social media site. ” We does protected our borders. And we will recover sovereignty”.

In his remarks and virtual posts, Mr Trump has ramped up anti- immigrant language, casting migrants as unsafe criminals “poisoning the heart” of America. His campaign rallies frequently feature untruths about immigration, but it has attracted a large number of backers a decade ago when the phrase “build the wall” was sounded.

President Joe Biden and his allies describe the situation as a coverage debate that Congress is resolve, and they criticize Republicans in Washington for veering away from a frontier security deal after Trump has been critical of it.

However, Mr. Trump’s message appears to be resonate with important alliance members, which Mr. Biden will need to get over in November, in a possible caring sign for the Democrat.

According to an Associated Press- NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll conducted in March, roughly two-thirds of Americans now disapprove of Mr. Biden’s approach to border security, including about four in ten Democrats, 55 % of Black adults, and 73 % of Hispanic adults.

    A perceived problems

According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, 32 % of Americans described the situation as a crisis and 34 % as a major issue.

One of the people who expressed frustration with Mr. Biden’s immigration laws and the city’s approach as it attempts to shelter just arrived immigrants was Vetress Boyce, a Chicago-based racial justice advocate. She argued that Democrats should rely on financial investment in Black neighborhoods, no visitors.

” They’re sending us people who are starving, the same way Africans are starving in this state. When the people who live around are suffering and have been suffering for over 100 years, they are sending us citizens who want to avoid the problems and come around for a better life,” said Ms. Boyce. ” That recipe is a mixture for disaster. It’s a disaster just waiting to happen”.

Gracie Martinez, a 52-year-old Hispanic small business owner from Eagle Pass, Texas, was in the border town where Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden spent the same day traveling to the state. Ms. Martinez claimed to once be a Democrat and supported former president Barack Obama, but she now supports Trump, primarily due to the border.

” It’s horrible”, she said. ” It’s tons and tons of people, and they’re giving them medical and money, phones”, she said, complaining those who went through the legal immigration system are treated worse.

Priscilla Hesles, 55, a teacher who lives in Eagle Pass, described the current situation as “almost an overtaking” that had changed the town.

” We do n’t know where they’re hiding. We do n’t know where they’ve smuggled into or where they’ll leave, according to Ms. Hesles, who claimed she once took an evening walk to a neighborhood church but stopped after being shook by a group of men she claimed were migrants when she claimed they had.

The president’s re- election campaign recently launched a$ US30 million ($ 46 million ) ad campaign targeting Latino audiences in key swing states that includes a digital ad in English and Spanish highlighting Mr Trump’s past description of Mexican immigrants as” criminals” and “rapists”.

After failing to pass the bipartisan deal that Mr. Biden endorsed, the White House has begun considering a number of executive actions that could significantly tighten immigration restrictions.

This week, Mr. Trump will launch a campaign on Tuesday ( Wednesday AEDT ) in Wisconsin and Michigan, where he is expected to criticize Mr. Biden regarding immigration.

The former president refers to recent record-high arrests for south-west border crossings as an “invasion” carried out by Democrats to transform America. Mr. Trump accuses Mr. Biden of allowing illegal immigrants and potential terrorists into the country.

Mr. Trump claims some migrants are” not people” and that many of the migrants are women and children who are fleeing poverty and violence. He also claims that some migrants are “poisoning the blood” of America with drugs and disease. Extremism experts advise against using dehumanizing language when describing migrants.

There is no proof that foreign governments are ejecting their jails or mental hospitals, as Mr. Trump claims. And while conservative media coverage has been predominatedd by a number of high-profile crimes allegedly committed by foreigners illegally in the country, recent FBI statistics reveal that overall violent crime in the US decreased, continuing a downward trend following a pandemic-era spike.

Additionally, studies have found that illegal immigrants are far less likely than native-born Americans to have been detained for violent, drug, and property crimes.

far from the southern border ripens

The impact of the border is being felt far away from the border, which is a part of what has made it such a hot topic.

Trump allies, most notably Texas Governor Greg Abbott, have used state- funded buses to send more than 100, 000 migrants to Democratic- led cities like New York, Denver and Chicago, where Democrats will hold this summer’s convention. Local leaders are scrambling to provide emergency housing and medical care to new groups of immigrants because of the influx, which has stretched city budgets.

Local news coverage has often been negative. Migrants have been blamed on everything from a string of gang-related robberies in New Jersey to burglary rings targeting suburban Philadelphia and measles cases in parts of Arizona and Illinois, according to viewers.

The issues at the border are hurting business, according to Rudy Menchaca, an Eagle Pass bar owner who also works for a company that imports Corona beer from Mexico.

Mr. Menchaca is the type of Hispanic voter Mr. Biden is counting on to support his re-election campaign. The 27-year-old described how Mr. Trump portrayed Hispanics and Mexicans as he never liked his rhetoric. He added, however, that he was open to the idea of backing Donald Trump.

When it comes to Texas forces sent to the border, Mr. Menchaca said,” I need those soldiers to be around if I have my business.” ” The bad ones that enter” could break in.
