President Joe Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chávez RodrÃguez insisted Biden is not in favor of closing the U. S. Mexico border, contradicting the president’s recent claim that he would” shut down” the border immediately if he could.
” The president does n’t talk about shutting down the border]and is ] not advocating for shutting down the border”, Chávez RodrÃguez told the Washington Post, adding that “what people want to see is order and humanity in our immigration system”.
Chávez Rodriguez made his remarks after Biden constantly claimed in late January that he would close the border if a bipartisan Senate act was also negotiating. The bill would provide me the power to temporarily close the border until it can be brought under control, according to the leader. If that costs were the laws today, I’d locked down the boundary right then and resolve it quickly”, Biden said.  ,
House speaker Mike Johnson ( R., La. ) accused Biden of being deceptive. In a January letter, Johnson wrote that” President Biden falsely claimed yesterday that he needed Congress to pass a fresh legislation to allow him to shut the southeastern border.” He can and must take executive action right away to end the crisis he has caused, as I explained in a letter soon last year and have particularly reiterated to him on numerous occasions since.
An AP- NORC ballot on Friday found roughly 7 in 10 Americans disapprove of Biden’s report on immigration. Similar results were obtained from a Gallup poll in February, with just 28 % of Americans saying they were unhappy with Biden’s immigration policies. Biden’s general approval standing as leader dropped 3 percentage points to 38 percent, just 1 point above his all- time small, according to the Gallup poll.
