Chris Bowen, the prime minister’s representative for Australia, has defended the use of two Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF ) jets to a climate change announcement.
For a press conference on solar energy, the two planes traveled from Canberra to the Hunter Valley’s Scone Memorial Airport.
At a press event in Fairfield, NSW on April 1, Mr. Bowen stated that the Air Force advised that the best way to transport the prime minister and two Cabinet officials to the Liddell Power Station was to travel to Scone Airport, where the tarmac was not rated for the prime minister’s typical large jet.
