On Wednesday, President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT ) spoke at the White House to make the case for his healthcare plans as the country prepares for the 2024 general election.
Since taking office, the president’s popularity has declined among progressives, particularly those under 35, and Biden’s election campaign is working doubly to strengthen his winning 2020 electoral coalition before November.
Smith spoke ahead of the leader and made the case that, “finally”, because of Biden, the U. S. is” catching off” to various European countries in expanding care exposure for all Americans.
In his opening remarks, he told the audience,” Despite all the social wealth and political power of the medical companies.” ” Despite all of that, the Biden administration and the Democrats in Congress are beginning to make some advancement.”
Biden’s initiatives to reduce prescription drug prices, according to White House officers, will be reversed if previous president Donald Trump wins the 2024 vote and Republicans win seats in Congress, were Smith especially encouraged.
” This is an issue we must — , had — , get a handle on”, he continued, adding that it is only possible to do so by “working up”.
Biden thanked Sanders for “leading the approach” on healthcare reform and assisting in passing laws through Congress when he took the stage.
” Bernie said it. I was listening in the background, Bernie, you and I’ve been fighting this for 25 times”, the senator stated. ” Finally, finally, we beat Big Pharma, and I would n’t have done it without Bernie”.
Moreover, he criticized Trump for expressing his desire to reverse Biden’s Medicare initiatives and for blatantly denying access to national abortion protections as provided by Roe v. Wade.
Biden’s remarks appear to be a part of an endeavor to shift the conversation away from his immigration laws, which Trump has strongly focused on this year.
Next week, the president and Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance in North Carolina for a separate care event.
” There’s a lot of persons lying in bed at night, staring at the roof, absolutely wondering,’ What will happen if my spouse gets cancer , or my baby gets critically ill? Did I have ample plan? Is the health expenses be covered? Will we need to buy our home? What must we accomplish in the future? he said at the moment. We changed that and made the Affordable Care Act the law of the land because of all of you in this area and across the state.
