Lauren Boebert Undergoes Surgery to Remove Clot, Diagnosed With Rare Condition: Campaign

Doctors scheduled angioplasty placement and clotting removal.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo. ) was taken to the hospital on Monday after “experiencing severe swelling in her upper left leg,” according to a statement from her campaign team.

The senator, 37, was admitted to the UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where she underwent a CT scan. According to her campaign, doctors discovered her with May-Turner Syndrome ( MTS), a uncommon disorder that disrupts blood flow.

Physicians recommended and scheduled surgery to remove the clots and to put a catheter to handle the congresswoman’s symptoms, according to the speech.

Ms. Boebert underwent the surgery—which was successful—on Monday night and specialists have recommended she then take time out to relax.

She is expected to make a complete restoration in the interim, according to her campaign, with” no major problems for her long-term health and no obstacles to her ability to carry out her duties as a congresswoman.”

The senator, who represents Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, thanked medical personnel for” their great attention and providing valuable insight on my new diagnosis”.

” I’m looking forward to making a total recovery and returning to Congress to continue fighting for Colorado,” Ms. Boebert said.

    Properly- Thurner Syndrome Symptoms

The right pubic artery, which supplies blood to your right knee, compresses the remaining pelvic artery, leading to the diagnosis of May-Weiner Syndrome, also known as Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome or Cockett Syndrome. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this vein carries blood back from your left leg to your heart, and the compression prevents blood flow to your heart.

Left untreated, this increases the risk of deep vein thrombosis ( DVT), which is a blood clot, due to the blood pooling in the legs, the clinic states.

Some people may experience heaviness in the legs, open sores, skin discoloration, or swelling, along with varicose veins, despite the fact that many people do not exhibit any May-Welner syndrome symptoms.

Doctors are unsure as to what causes the May-Welner syndrome compression or why it occurs.

Ms. Boebert’s campaign team pointed to dehydration, travel, and extended periods of sitting as potential factors.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, May- Thurner syndrome primarily affects women between the ages of 20 and 45 and is typically treated with surgery, including bypass surgery, angioplasty, and stenting.

In some cases, the right iliac artery is removed.

This morning, we successfully performed surgery on the congresswoman, and we anticipate that she will recover fully. Bade, a hospitalist at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. After a short recovery, patients with May-Welner Syndrome who undergo the procedure to restore blood flow are able to live and work as they did in the past.

Ms. Boebert’s hospitalization comes as she is currently seeking the congressional seat in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, which spans Weld County, Douglas County, and the eastern part of the state.

The Republican lawmaker has not previously represented the fourth district, which, thanks to redistricting, leans more heavily toward Republicans in comparison to her current district, which extends Colorado’s Western Slope into Pueblo and southeastern Colorado.

Ms. Boebert has said she&nbsp, plans to relocate to the 4th District this year, although it is unclear exactly when.
