
PROGRESO, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — U. S. Customs and Border Protection arrested a man who was wanted in North Texas on a warrant for sexual assault of a child, authorities announced.
Emilio Torres Salas, 66, was detained on Monday at the Progreso International Bridge following a check that revealed he had an excellent arrest warrant out of Quitman, Wood County.
CBP announced in a media release that “his identity was verified during extra evaluation by genetic verification and federal law enforcement directories.”
The warrant included a sexual abuse of a baby and continued sexual abuse of a minor.
Salas was turned over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office representatives for more control.
