Even included’ Free, completely Palestine ‘ slogans
University of California Los Angeles health students were presumably ordered to suggest a “non- liberal prayer” to” Mama Earth” during a required” architectural racism” class.
Lisa Gray- Garcia, a visitor speech, “began the March 27 course by leading pupils in what she described as a “non-secular prayer” to” the predecessors,” The Washington Free Beacon reported. She “instruct]ed ] everyone to get on their thighs and touch the floor —’mama world’ as she described it—with their hands”.
” From Korea to Palestine- MamaEarth will be free# ComfortWomen justice coalition opposes genocide in# Palestine”, she ( pictured ) also wrote on X a few days prior. In November 2023, she referred to the terrorist attacks on Israel as” righteousness”.
According to the Free Beacon, ancient worship was not the only requirement for the” Fundamental Racism and Health Equity” program.
From the account:
The prayer also included a benediction for “black”, “brown”, and “houseless people” who die because of the” crapatalist lie” of “private property”.
” Mama earth”, Gray- Garcia told the bowing students, “was not meant to be bought, sold, pimped, or played”.
A lengthy, funny lecture that some wealthy medical school students were shocked and called for an investigation followed. Wearing a keffiyeh that covered her whole face, Gray- Garcia, a personal- described “poverty scholar”, led the class in chants of” Free, Clean Palestine” as faculty and staff looked on in silence, according to people in the course and historical text messages reviewed by the Free Beacon.
” Gray- Garcia after referred to current medicine as ‘ white science’ and inveighed against the’ occupation’ of’ Turtle Island ‘—that is, the United States—before asking students to remain for a subsequent prayer”, the Free Beacon reported. ” This time, nearly everyone rose”.
However, an unidentified UCLA administrator sought to identify one student who sat during this class, “implying that discipline might be on the table,” according to the Free Beacon.
The Jewish Faculty Resilience Group, the university’s Jewish Faculty Resilience Group, wrote in a letter to Chancellor Gene Block on Friday, March 29 that” the net effect was that UCLA staff intimidated first-year medical students into participating in a religious service in derogation of their own personal beliefs.”
Additionally, the planned exercise that divided students into discussion groups was criticized. Following the Wall Street Journal‘s media coverage ,UCLA canceled that section of the course.
The course also includes content on” settler colonialism”, as previously reported by The Daily Wire.
