U. S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen criticized Beijing’s” coercive” actions against foreign firms, calling on the government’s top management to deliver British businesses and workers” a level playing field”.
In Guangzhou, the southwestern trade hub, Ms. Yellen met with American and other business leaders on Friday to kick off her next trip to China as Treasury Secretary.
At an event held by the American Chamber of Commerce in China ( AmCham ), Ms. Yellen outlined “unfair economic practices,” including imposing barriers on foreign businesses and imposing coercive measures against American businesses.
A third of U.S. businesses said they were badly treated by regional policies and enforcement actions in the annual study conducted by the Beijing-based AmCham, in contrast to their Taiwanese competitors.
