How to Find Out When Monday’s Eclipse Will Be Visible from Your Location

DALLAS ( AP ) — In some parts of North America, clouds may obscure the total solar eclipse on Monday, but here’s how to determine when the eclipse should be visible from your location.

Some people who hope to see the moon’s total solar eclipse on Monday might see the moon obscured by clouds instead of the sun.

Although there is still time for the weather to change, meteorologists predict that oracle day storms could engulf some of the journey, which runs from Mexico and Texas to Maine and some of Canada.

If clouds do n’t get in the way, eclipse-wearing path travelers will see the moon gradually start to slowly obscure the sun until it is completely blocked, a period of darkness known as” totality,” during which temperatures drop and the sun’s corona will be visible.

Visit NASA’s Eclipse Explorer site and enter your zip code to find out when the eclipse may be obvious from your site.

What’s the projection along the eclipse’s way?

Due to storms that are moving across the northern U.S., clouds are expected to form in much of the eclipse’s way on Monday.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Marc Chenard, pieces of Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois now have the best opportunity of clear skies.

Canada, too, may have only light cloud cover that wo n’t significantly impact the view. Higher, thinner clouds may also help sdk goers to view the sun, while lower, thicker clouds may obscure the spectacle completely.

Pieces of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Texas are unclear. Northeast Texas, Chenard says,” was kind of go either way at this point”. Mexico may also have a low-mid sky support.

Thushari Jayasekara, a science teacher at Southern Illinois University, saw the 2017 supermoon from Carbondale, Illinois, where it was half hidden by sky. The scene vanished straight away from her viewpoint at the school’s Saluki Stadium as the moon’s last ray of the sun came out. The throng fell motionless.

” It was black, but we were not able to see the sun”, she said. During the entire duration of the storm, Carbondale residents could see the entire impact.

How appropriate is the oracle weather forecast?

” The doubt is also very high”, Chenard said. Meteorologists are unable to identify where and when clouds may appear due to the country’s moving storms.

The north of the United States has been showing encouraging weather thus far, but the speed and timing of the storms on Monday may have an impact on how cloud cover will look elsewhere in the nation.

The Weather Prediction Center for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will release the eclipse estimates every day through Monday.

If the solar eclipse is cloudy or raining, how can I view it?

The total solar eclipse can still be viewed online.

Beginning at 1 p.m. EDT, NASA did start broadcasting camera images of the moon and on NASA TV. Associated Press reporters may also provide life coverage of the eclipse from across the way, starting at 10 a. m. EDT with opinions from Mazatlán, Mexico, and other places.

Additionally, Slooh, Time and Date, and The Exploratorium Museum will transmit eclipse time views.
