As part of a$ 45 million settlement the retail giant recently agreed to enter into to settle a lawsuit, some Walmart customers may be eligible for up to$ 500 in cash payments.
The lawsuit comes from a class action lawsuit in which Walmart was accused of three” widespread cruel and false” business practices that resulted in users being charged more than the lowest advertised price for a product, either per pound or per gram.
Walmart was accused of fraudulently inflating product fat, mislabeling the mass of packed produce, and overcharging for sold- by- weight clearance products, per the complaint.
Shoppers at the checkout were deceived into thinking they were paying less for sold-by-weight items like poultry and seafood, as well as for some packaged citrus fruits like pure oranges and grapefruit.
