The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ ( ATF )  , National Firearms Commerce and Trafficking Assessment ( NFCTA ), Vol. III, undermines the public’s long- standing frenzy over a consequently- called “gun display loophole”.
The NFCTA examines weapons trafficking and weapons trafficking programs, both domestic and international.
The ATF uploaded the NFCTA in different parts or segments, and component four looks at” source- to- business” prostitution.
From the NFCTA:
The term resource- to- industry type captures the geographical scope of firearm trafficking cases, which include intrastate, federal, and foreign trafficking. In the United States, there is federal smuggling between states and intrastate trafficking, which involves the movement of firearms between states. The action of firearms between U.S. and foreign countries is a part of global prostitution. The terms” source” and “market” are used to describe the state or region that receives illicit firearms in the context of interstate and international prostitution, while “market” and” source” are used to describe the state or country that receives illegal firearms. In the case of foreign trafficking, the U. S. may serve as the source state while a foreign region serves as the market state, referred to as U. S. to foreign prostitution. Conversely, a foreign country may serve as the source country while the U. S. serves as the market country, referred to as foreign to U. S. trafficking.
One would assume that these shows will play a significant role in intrastate and interstate trafficking after decades of hysteria from the left, which led to gun control push after gun control push based on the so-called “gun show loophole.” However, the NFCTA numbers show only 3.2 percent of ATF intrastate trafficking cases involve” trafficking in firearms at gun shows, flea markets, or auctions”.
Moreover, only 4.3 percent of ATF interstate trafficking cases involve” trafficking in firearms at gun shows, flea markets, or auctions”.
The percentage of international ATF trafficking cases from the United States to a foreign country involving” trafficking in firearms at gun shows, flea markets, or auctions” is 4.5 percent.
When it came to international trafficking from other countries into the United States, trafficking at gun shows, flea markets, etc., did not even rank high enough to merit mention.
The ATF noted that “relatively few investigations involved FFL traffickers and trafficking in firearms through gun shows” in NFCTA Part 5. However, they hedged their statement by noting that the “relatively few investigations” did involve over 50 firearms each.
