WASHINGTON—An engine cover on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737- 800 fell off on Sunday during takeoff in Denver and struck the wing flap, prompting the Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ) to open an investigation.
West Flight 3695, which lost the engine gasket, was safely towed to the wall and returned properly to Denver International Airport on Sunday morning around 8:15 a.m. local time.
Before departing, the Boeing plane, which had 135 people and six team members on board, climbed about 10 300 feet and flew to Houston Hobby Airport.
Another South flight arrived in Houston about four days behind plan. Southwest claimed repair teams are looking at the aircraft.
