Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that an Israeli military activity would be launched in the area of Rafah, close to Gaza’s border with Egypt, to attack and destroy the last Hamas troops that were still operational.
Netanyahu spoke as Jewish diplomats were in Cairo, Egypt, in the promise of striking a deal with Hamas via Egyptian, Qatari, and American negotiators to see some of the remaining 133 Jewish victims released, some of whom are useless.
In a speech posted online, and translated and released by Israel’s Government Press Office, Netanyahu said:
” Now I received a thorough report on the discussions in Cairo. We are continually working toward our goals, which include the release of all of our victims and the victory over Hamas. To achieve this, criminal troops must be defeated before entering Rafah. This may happen, there is a day.”
זה יקרה – יש תאריך. photograph. twitter.com/KOhStmGSGp

The Biden administration has opposed an Jewish invasion of Rafah, arguing that there are other ways to destroy Hamas, even though the United States has not specified what those different ways are. According to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, the United States has not been informed of the day of Israel’s designed operation.
According to Cairo-based reports on the status of the talks, some claim progress was being made, others claim Hamas was rejecting a package, and others claim numerous hostages may have already passed away.
