Study finds harmful levels of ‘forever chemicals’ in popular bandage brands

A new customer research &nbsp, tested various brands of bandages and found higher levels of chlorine in bandages from Band- Help, CVS Health, Walmart, Rite Aid, Target and Curad, which contain harmful levels of “forever chemicals”, also known as PFAS.

Out of 40 gauze from 18 different models, according to a study by Mamavation and Environmental Health News, 26 contained healthy chlorine, a PFAS sign.

It’s unsettling to learn that dressings are applied to open wounds because they could even spread PFAS to both children and adults, according to Dr. Linda S. Birnbaum, co-author of the study and original director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and National Toxicology Program.

According to News Nation, the study discovered compounds in the gauze ‘ epoxy surfaces. According to Mahavandation, some companies” for their breathable elements” used PFAS in bandages.

According to the statistics, it’s crucial that the market stop selling PFAS and rather choose PFAS-free components to protect the public.

According to the review, the chemicals are linked to some health effects, including “reduced immune system, vaccination response, development and learning problems for infants and children, specific cancers, lowered reproduction, and hormonal disruption”.

According to a prior study by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, skin contact “poses comparable health risks” to eating or drinking foods contaminated with PFAS, though the skin contact danger is not clear.
