Trump Makes His Position on Abortion Clear: ‘States Will Determine’

Former President Donald Trump says each state may following” the will of the people” and pass&nbsp, condition- certain laws on abortion. &nbsp, &nbsp,

In a video posted on TruthSocial Monday night, Trump said,” My perspective is now that we have pregnancy where everyone wanted it from a legitimate standpoint, the state will determine it by ballot, through policy, or possibly both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land, in this case, the law of the state,” according to Trump. &nbsp,

Despite the fact that the president appointed the Supreme Court justices in June of 2022, who were ultimately responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade, Trump’s position on abortion has previously been unclear in light of the presidential election of 2024. &nbsp,

” I want to thank the six justices: Chief Justice John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch”, Trump said. They “were incredible people for having the guts to allow this long-fought, difficult battle to come to an end,” he called them.

” This 50- year battle over Roe v. Wade took it out of the federal hands and brought it into the hearts, minds, and vote of the people at each state”, he added. ” Now it’s up to the states to do the right thing” .&nbsp,

Further clarifying his view on abortion, Trump said he supports “exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother”.

” You must follow your heart of this issue, but remember, you must also win elections to restore our culture and in fact, to save our country, which is currently, and very sadly, a nation in decline”, he added.

” We are deeply disappointed in President Trump’s position”, Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro- Life America, said in a statement Monday morning. &nbsp,

” Unborn children and their mothers deserve national protections and advocacy against the abortion industry’s brutality. In reference to the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade, Dannenfelser said,” The Dobbs decision clearly allows both states and Congress to act.” &nbsp,

The Democrats are working tirelessly to pass legislation mandating abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy, according to Dannenfelser, stating that the issue is “back to the states” and giving the impression that the country is in the state is the cause of the national debate. ” If successful, they will wipe out states ‘ rights. &nbsp,

Trump criticized Democrats ‘ abortion positions in his remarks, saying that” Democrats are the radical ones in this position, because they support abortion up to and&nbsp, even beyond the ninth month. The concept of having an abortion in the later months, and even execution after birth, and that’s exactly what it is, the baby is born, the baby is executed after birth, is unacceptable, and almost everyone agrees with that. ” &nbsp,

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life Action praised Trump for” celebrating’ the ultimate joy in life ‘ – children and family” &nbsp, in his comments. &nbsp,

” That kind of love and support for the bedrock of society, the family, will be a welcome change in the White House,” &nbsp”, Hawkins said. She continued,” We obviously have some work to do to educate the Trump Administration about the numerous ways that abortion has been made a federal issue.” &nbsp,

Additionally, CatholicVote President Brian Burch argued that the “federal government cannot abandon women and children who are being abused by abortion.” He also responded to Trump’s video. Leaving abortion policy to the states is not sufficient”, he said. &nbsp, &nbsp,

” President Trump’s latest statement also reflects the electoral minefield created by Democrat abortion fanaticism”, Burch said. ” Pro-life voters still need to win elections to protect mothers and children,” he continued. Democrats are also working on a billion-dollar election year barrage with a focus on radical abortion. Trump did not endorse any particular pro-life initiatives, but he notably will not oppose states that have taken measures to shield innocent children from the violent abortion industry.

Trump began the four-minute, 26-second video by expressing his support for the family and the IVF process. &nbsp,

” Under my leadership, the Republican Party will always support the creation of strong, thriving, and healthy American families”, Trump said. We support the availability of fertility treatments like IVF in every state of America in addition to making it easier for mothers and families to have babies.

” Like the overwhelming majority of Americans, including the vast majority of Republicans, conservatives, Christians, and pro- life Americans, I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby”, the former president said. &nbsp,
