Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. ( TSMC), the largest chip manufacturer in the world, made the announcement on Monday that the Biden administration would start manufacturing the most advanced chips on American soil.
The CHIPS and Science Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022, will grant the Taiwanese company up to$ 6.6 billion in direct funding, according to the U.S. Commerce Department.
According to the initial contract, the company’s company, TSMC Arizona, will use this money to invest more than$ 65 billion in three new fabs in Phoenix, Arizona….
