Another yarn about President Joe Biden’s meeting with Univision has been updated in this post.  ,
During Tuesday’s White House press presentation, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan took some issues pertaining to Israel’s organized activity in Rafah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a date has been set, and that despite criticism from the Biden White House, he is determined to carry on. Throughout Tuesday, though, Sullivan kept doubling down on the government’s concerns, and he even failed to act out heating aid to Israel, something several significantly- left, anti- Israel Democrats have called for. Joe Biden, the president, after addressed his opposition to the Rafah function in an appointment with Univision.  ,

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre rebuffed her claim next Wednesday that there were “alternative way” for Israel to deal with Hamas in addition to conducting such operations. On Tuesday, Sullivan repeated that state in related conditions. Such a reply was given during one of the numerous inquiries he was asked about how support for our alliance in the Middle East might be affected by this.  ,
Sullivan noted that Netanyahu has not agreed the date for the Rafah operation, so he would n’t make any comments on that aspect of it when responding to a question.  ,
Sullivan responded by asking the question,” Will the administration take any action or restrain military support for Israel if Netanyahu advances with Rafah,” but he did n’t just go on to say that. He brought up the fact that he had previously criticized the operation’s ideas as he was once more.  ,
The United States, insisted,” The United States does not think that a large ground conquest of Rafah, where 1.3 or more million people are sheltering… into the place where charitable assistance comes in, is not the best way forth.” He also lamented the plight of Gazans who were affected by a war that was started because of Hamas ‘ terrorist attack against Israel on October 7. ” There are better ways to go after Hamas and Rafah”, he continued, noting” we presented those ways to our Israeli counterparts” and that” there have been ongoing technical talks”, with conversations expected to be “ongoing”.

Sullivan added that” we will make determinations on how we will proceed based on how those conversations unfold.”

Another reporter directly inquired of Sullivan’s question more specifically,” when will the U.S. consider similar measures when it comes to how France and Turkey, which is particularly anti-Israel, have imposed sanctions and restrictions on Israel. She therefore inquired when the United States would join other countries in renunciating our ally.  ,
The reporter was not the only one to focus on Gaza’s need for humanitarian aid. Sullivan was as well, furthering such a narrative that others in the Biden administration, including and especially the president himself, have gone with.  ,
Given that Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have made these same points, Sullivan said that our policy will be determined by whether we see sustained follow-through on specific, concrete, measurable steps to provide access to, deconflict, and other measures to alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza. ”  ,

Sullivan warned against U.S. S, policy would change” if Israel’s policy does n’t change on a sustained basis,” though he refused to speak further than that.

Then there is the Biden interview with Univision, which Democrats claimed was meant to be an “important opportunity for the Spanish-speaking population of our country, and abroad, to hear how the President plans to address many of the issues facing our nation and the world.”
However, what made headlines was how the increasingly anti-Israel Biden attacked Netanyahu, claiming that he thought Rafah plans were” a mistake.” He also called for a ceasefire, not just for six weeks, as has been raised in the past, but potentially eight.  ,
” So what I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a cease- fire, allow for the next six, eight weeks, total access to all food and medicine going into the country”, Biden said in the interview. There is no justification for not meeting the medical and food needs of those people. It should be done now”. Tellingly, there is n’t a mention of Biden making any demands of Hamas, such as releasing the hostages, when it comes to that call for a ceasefire.  ,
