In a five-page letter, she wrote that Mike Johnson “worked with Chuck Schumer rather than with us, and gave Joe Biden and the Democrats all they wanted.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La. ) was the subject of a letter that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene sent to her coworkers outlining her criticism of him. prior to the House reopening on April 9.
Late last month, the Republican from Georgia filed a shift to abandon against the speaker, which quickly turned into a fever pitch after months of fighting between Ms. Greene and Mr. Johnson. This letter marks the most recent section in their conflict.
The speaker’s removal occurred at the same time that liberals were opposed to a$ 1.2 trillion spending plan in the House that would have prevented a partial government shutdown.
Ms. Greene claimed that the listener is not properly serving the GOP meeting:
” I will never bear our elected Republican Speaker Mike Johnson helping the Democrats and the Biden administration achieve their plans that are destroying our state,” said Ms. Greene. He is “wreaking havoc” with his own razor-thin lot by not participating in the GOP convention that elected him.
” With so much at stake for our future and the future of our children, I will never bear this type of Republican ‘ management,'” she added”. This has been a full retreat to, if not perfect and in complete opposition to, the Democrats ‘ plan, which has enraged our Democratic foundation so much and given them little reason to support a Republican House majority.
Ms. Greene cited what she believes to be Mr. Johnson’s failure to adhere to his” important interests” when running for the senate in October. The priorities were to recover trust, advance a comprehensive policy agenda, promote individual members, join members, properly message, develop and utilize additional coalitions, and develop and grow the GOP majority.
She asserted that he had no followed through:” Mike Johnson has unfortunately never lived up to a single one of his personal- imposed principles,” Ms. Greene wrote.
Ms. Greene just argued that Congress should address the issue of the southern border before providing support to Kyiv, noting that Mr. Johnson voted against funding Ukraine before taking office as House speech.
” The next day we voted on Ukraine money was September 28, 2023, and the majority of Republicans voted against giving Ukraine$ 300 million by 117- 101 seats. Mike Johnson was one of the NO vote,” Ms. Greene said.
When Mike Johnson was against it less than 7 months before, she added,” He is officially saying that money Ukraine is now his top focus.” The American people disagree, saying that they think our border is the only borders that merits fighting a battle over.
‘ Guidelines? What Rules?’
She criticized Johnson’s control of the macroeconomic 2024 state money method, which came to an end late last month, and his use of two-step continuing resolutions to complicate the process by failing to secure more GOP victories in the two deals.
” This was really a two- part bus, split into two minibuses,  , crammed down our throats, passed under expulsion of the rules, breaking the 72- hours rule, giving us one day to learn over a thousand pages, and tying our hands behind our backs by never allowing us to make any amendments.
” Guidelines? What laws? Remember the important guidelines”? Ms. Greene said. ” Evidently, they no longer subject to Mike Johnson, yet though he promised to abide by them and maintain them”.
No different from how a Speaker Hakeem Jeffries may have done, as Mike Johnson worked with Chuck Schumer rather than with us.
Mr. Johnson’s company did not immediately respond to The Epoch Times’s request for comment.
