As a spokesman for the Select Committee of Democrats recently criticized Republicans for trying to make a conspiratorial case about Covid and state officials ‘ role in stifling the lab-leak concept, saying that” While the Majority continues its hunting mission, Select Subcommittee Democrats will be focused on forward-looking options that protect the American person’s health.”
That’s interesting because if they really are concerned with “forward-looking answers” to safeguard Americans ‘ health, I would assume there would be a password red in the wake of an epidemic that kills more people than Covid every day: fat. Yet here we are — insects.
The Fat Epidemic
Media ratings soared for about three years as ticker tapes of death appeared on every television in the nation’s lower second. A virus that has an overall mortality rate of about 1 % and a mortality rate that ranges from 0 % to 0 %, depending on age and health, was stopped for the world.
Why are there no daily warnings recounting the number of people who die each day from heart disease ( almost 2, 000 daily ), diabetes ( about 1, 000 per day ), stroke, and other issues directly caused by crappy metabolic health? Why does n’t the CDC make an effort to scare the worst out of us into believing poor health decisions have disastrous effects? Why is there no public mocking for increased resting hormone levels, BMI ( body mass index ), blood pressure, and fats? Some of these may be inadequate measurements, but they’re a fine gauge to determine the health of the general populace.
In 2021, about 500, 000 people died from Covid. That’s being nice and rounding away. We all are aware of Covid’s significant flaws. They “died of Covid” even if they were struck by a vehicle and had Covid. But for simplicity’s purpose, 500, 000 it is.
In the same year, 695, 000 people died of brain disease and 700, 000 of diabetes only.
According to recent CDC quotes, 1 in 3 Americans will develop insulin at some point in their lives, and 96 million people ( more than 1 in 3 ) have prediabetes, defined as having blood sugar levels that are above normal but not large enough to be diagnosed with the disease.
Among people hospitalized with extreme Covid issues, 39.7 percent had diabetes as an underlying medical condition. For people between the ages of 50 and 64, the portion increased to 46.5 percent. Let’s not forget the fact that patients who were overweight or obese had a higher risk of acute complications such as pneumonia ( 4- 10 percent higher ), respiratory failure ( 8- 30 percent higher ), and acute kidney injury ( 8- 42 percent higher ).
These health data are n’t plastered on The New York Times or The Washington Post’s front sites for some reason, in my opinion. There are no normal comments from Rachel Maddow, Stephen Colbert, or Joe Scarborough and no moral indignation as fat people line their carts with Coca- Cola, Krispy Kremes, and Cheetos. In fact, doing so would be considered shaming, and God forbid we shame anyone as a means of behavior modification. Thanks, Brene Brown.  ,
Within a week, governments around the world shut down entire economies, destroying businesses and lives everywhere. The losses have been cataclysmic. Two years of lies and deceptive data resulted in poor educational outcomes for children. Conflicts over masks and vaccinations shattered relationships, friendships, and families that were raped. Our nation was decimated by our government and media due to a virus that most metabolically healthy people recovered from.
A Government’s Response to the New Health Crisis
In place of these facts, I’d like to make some policy recommendations to the Select Committee of Democrats and our elected officials regarding the real cause of obesity and metabolic syndrome. I’m neither a politician nor a doctor, so I have a lot of potential to do so. Additionally, these novel concepts could save lives as opposed to end them.
More public space would be made available for recreation and recreation. People would be required to walk at least 5, 000 steps per day from their homes. After three months, a “booster” would be introduced to increase that number to 7, 000. After six months, a second “booster” would require 10, 000 steps. Now lace up and get outside! You can even wave and chuckle at your neighbor or that annoying coworker from the other side of the street.
Fresh air and vitamin D for everyone, with an apple and an avocado for complying! Mayors and city officials would gently persuade everyone by watching a television program, consuming salmon or eggs, sautéed spinach, and drinking a nice glass of water.
Rather than giving money to people to” Netflix and chill”, we would give them money to spend on fruits, vegetables, and other whole- food items. All “nonessential” food would be banned: Doritos, other chips, candy, soda, and anything else that ca n’t be grown in the ground. This includes alcohol and marijuana. Permanent restrictions on SNAP income would be in place to encroach on the ability to purchase such things. People would be required to drive or walk into the store to get groceries, making it impossible to have everything delivered to the front door, and everyone would also be required to be cordial to at least one person per day. Plus, this would count toward your daily step requirement.
I ca n’t speak to the rush on toilet paper. With the increase in fiber intake, potty usage is bound to rise. Bring it up with the EPA.
You would be given a leave of absence to shed a few pounds, as opposed to being fired from your job for not taking the vaccine. Think of it as a wellness retreat! Women are frantically trying to get on one of those, and here you are being made to drink green juice and lift a few pounds. You immediately get hired back once your metabolic benchmarks fall within a healthy range.
Everyone would be required to undergo free monthly metabolic health checks to make sure they were protecting both themselves and their loved ones.
All children would be required to spend at least an hour of play and group activity each day. They would be taught how to grow and care for plants. That kind of indoctrination was, in my opinion, PhysEd and HomeEc.
Everyone is required to carry a card to prove that they have consumed enough protein per day, and they are not permitted to work or socialize without one.
A massive celebrity campaign would be launched to encourage everyone to ensure they get their” 5 a day,” and those who do n’t consume the necessary fruits and vegetables should be punished indefinitely. The biggest virtue-setters will be honored and given a Peloton bike as a reward for doing it!
Everyone could put a little circle around their social media profile photo proclaiming,” I’m metabolically healthy”! or,” My BMI is less than 25″!  ,
Magazines would return to highlighting healthy, fit bodies on their covers. Additionally, this would boost the economy. Men would start purchasing magazines once more, and some of the businesses that have fallen for poor marketing practices might go back to their former glory days.
Some people may struggle to resist the pressure to exercise and eat healthy, but they’ll eventually get used to it. After all, we’re kind and compassionate, and we want everyone to be safe. It’s the right thing to do.
And remember, this is n’t forever. It’s just until we “flatten the waistline”.
