Alejandro Mayorkas, a member of the Biden Cabinet who oversaw the Department of Homeland Security during the boundary issue, was publicly criticized by a Republican senator, who claimed that a Senate impeachment hearing would not be necessary to establish his guilt.
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA ) solemnly criticized Mayorkas during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on Wednesday afternoon and told the DHS secretary that because of the more than 8 million illegal immigrant encounters at the southern border in that time, his three years in office had put them in a better position than Americans.
” You’ve done everything for four centuries. Nada, zero, zilch”, said Kennedy. The only people I know in this country who are now in better shape than they were four years ago are illegal immigrants, in reality. And that’s as a result of your plan.
” It gives me no joy to say this, but most Republicans do n’t trust you and a vast majority of the American people do n’t trust you,” Kennedy continued”. I do n’t hate you for it. I do n’t hate anyone, but that’s why you’ve been impeached. And my coworkers might try to cover it up. They’re going to try to cover it up, but they it n’t cover up the facts.”
House Republicans made it known last week that they may offer the two Mayorkas-related articles of impeachment to the Democratic-controlled Senate on Wednesday.
But, the House leadership claimed on Tuesday that the plans had been put off and that the official delivery had been delayed, further putting a potential trial in which Mayorkas could be found guilty and removed from office in jeopardy behind closed doors.
Johnson claimed that Senate Democrats intended to “wipe your prosecution under the rug and offend 200 years of Senate law.”
Liberals, led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer ( D- NY), are expected to move to reject an impeachment trial against Mayorkas. Republicans do not seem to have the seats necessary to force a full trial, but they do want one.
Kennedy hammered Mayorkas and said whether it was a coincidence that the entrance of several million illegal immigrants to the US since President Joe Biden’s administration resulted in higher population levels in some states, which may increase the number of electoral vote for states even though those immigrants themselves never cast ballots in federal elections.
” Is n’t it true, Mr. Secretary, that the number of illegal immigrants that you and President Biden have allowed into our nation counts for allocating political seats?”
” The assumption, senator, that we intend to allow illegal immigration is little short of absurd,” Mayorkas said.

Kennedy argued that while some folks are “poorer” under Biden, they are not” stupid enough to think that the Biden presidency is handling the situation as best it can.
DHS cited a declaration from the House in January that claimed the House’s plan to attack Mayorkas was” a disconnection from other crucial national security priorities” and that it was “distracted from.”
the function that Congress should be doing to actually correct our broken immigration laws.
Mayorkas was impeached by the House two months ago because he made false statements to Congress while taking an oath while breaking the laws governing multiculturalism and border safety.
