Alejandro Mayorkas, the director of homeland security, made an admission to Congress on Wednesday that an individual who was identified by The Daily Wire as a Hamas follower continues to be on the Department of Homeland Security’s payroll despite gushing about her work online.
Nejwa Ali was given a leave of absence following The Daily Wire’s statement on October 18 regarding her comments praising the Hamas strikes on Israel that resulted in the deaths of more than 1, 000 people. At the tight of a Wednesday legislative hearing about DHS money, Rep. Dave Joyce ( R- OH), who chairs the committee responsible for the company’s money, asked Mayorkas whether Ali was still on the payment.
One of your staff was publicly recognized online celebrating the strike because we’re talking about finances today because the tragic terrorist assault on Israel on October 7, which was the deadliest day for the Hebrew people since the Holocaust. It was later revealed that she previously worked for the]Palestinian ] Liberation Organization, or what’s commonly known as the PLO, which is a very troublesome reputation, you’d agree. What is the position of the investigation into her behavior, based on a public opinion she made on LinkedIn two months ago?
Mayorkas claimed that the “individual is on administrative leave, not performing the duties and tasks for which she was hired” and that he was unable to comment further because the investigation is ongoing.

Ali, who was hired by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a PLO spokesperson, was prohibited from speaking to the PLO in Washington. Her responsibilities included examining evidence to “determine scams of protection concerns” and conducting reliable fear interviews to determine whether a person is truly fleeing persecution or is simply lying to enter the country.
She posted incessantly on various social media platforms almost entirely about Israel, with her profile saying she is” Palestinian@heart”. That included sharing a picture of the Hamas stand glider parachuting into a music concert with weapons.
” F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel”, said one of her comments.
According to Matthew Bourke, a spokesman for the agency,” firmly condemns anti-Semitism and the use of harsh rhetoric in any form,” The Daily Wire reported at the time. Yet she remains on the payment, yet though she explicitly admits her support for terrorism.
According to a report from The Daily Wire in December, Ali used her paid leave to rally in front of the Israeli Embassy during business hours and to insult military personnel it.
She has since complained on LinkedIn about Mayorkas ‘ unwillingness to let her go. When someone posted,” USCIS]please ] review your employee’s posts”, she replied, “yes, please do”!
When one wrote,” When you do everything you can to get fired but the employer says NO” she replied with a supply of laughing thoughts and wrote, “hilarious, really”.
When someone posted that Ali “has n’t yet been fired by” Mayorkas, Ali commented that she was” still laughing too. #freePalestine from APARTHEID Israel”.
When a military member commented on another one of her anti- Israel rants that” this is why you’ve been fired from your homeland security job”, she said:” I’m still being paid, but thanks … You’re a privileged white woman”.
Another LinkedIn user said,” Nejwa, as much as I believe in free speech and every American being entitled to develop and express their own opinion, tha]sic ] ends when you’re a representative of the US and mpre]sic ] implicitly, when dealing with immigration with the very people you are calling for total annihilation against”.
Ali replied:” Hear white people, shut the F*** UP”.
Joyce, the senator, asked Mayorkas if others had even been investigated for Hamas devotion, and Mayorkas said he was not conscious of any. Mayorkas claimed that the company’s screening procedure had not been updated, but that “individuals who are hired go through a clearing approach”
