Upgrade: Oscar Renee Sandoval, 59, who is accused of shooting and killing his wife on Monday, April 1 in Mesilla was apprehended in Ciudad Juarez, according to the Las Cruces Sun- Media.
ORIGINAL: EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Mesilla Marshal’s Office continues to check the death of a 39- yr- ancient woman that happened Monday, April 1 in Mesilla, New Mexico.
As we earlier reported, Sheireen Aljibury, 39, was reportedly shot and killed by her father Oscar Renee Sandoval, 59, on University Avenue, according to court records.
The mayor of the Town of Mesilla, Russell Hernandez, held a press event Saturday morning, April 6 to provide an upgrade on the crime.
Sergeant. Lourdes Hernandez, with the Mesilla Marshal’s Office, gave information about the ongoing research.
Hernandez said that on Monday, the day of the death, investigators recovered shells near Aljibury’a system.
On Tuesday, April 2, Mesilla Marshal’s Crime Scene investigators, under the guidance of the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office ( DASO ) investigator Eddie Flores, processed Sandoval’s recovered Ford Explorer. One bullet hole through the correct customer side was discovered, Hernandez said.
Hernandez stated that the car is still being processed.
On Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5, authorities returned to the crime scene to perform searches for any information. A spent shot was located in the earth, Hernandez said.
Hernandez claimed that the gun was taken as proof and will be presented in Santa Fe to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Lab.
The Mesilla Marshal’s Office continues to receive suggestions of observations of criminal Sandoval. Hernandez claimed that prosecutors are carefully reviewing each idea.
