Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY ) is being pestered by more than 40 Senate Republicans to order an impeachment trial for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
A text, exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, from 43 Senate Republicans and led by Sen. Lindsey Graham ( R- SC ) urges Schumer not to delay or ignore an impeachment trial against Mayorkas.

According to Graham and the Senate Republicans,” the Senate ] must uphold its constitutional duty to properly decide the House of Representatives impeachment.”
Just Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Mitt Romney (R-UT) are Senate Republicans who are the only ones who do not endorse the letter. Romney, for example, has said the House’s charges against Mayorkas do not permit prosecution.
In February, the House , voted , 214- 213 to oust Mayorkas in a shift that has not been seen in almost a decade and a half. Mayorkas has overseen document- breaking illegal immigration to the United States, with more than , 7.4 million  , southwestern boundary bridges since February 2021.

While House Speaker Mike Johnson ( R- LA ) was supposed to send articles of impeachment against Mayorkas to the Senate on Wednesday, April, 10, he delayed the move to Tuesday, April 16.
In addition to report- breaking improper immigration, Mayorkas has overseen the development of an expansive capture- and- release network in which , tens of thousands , of migrants are released into the U. S. interior every month.
Reps. Jim Jordan ( R- OH) and Tom McClintock ( R- CA ) have  , asked , Mayorkas to hand over records detailing every migrant released during his tenure. The minister, though, has refused , to listen to the demand.
According to reports, Mayorkas ‘ watch has been receiving about 85 % of all migrants arriving at the U.S. Mexico border. The minister, though, has not confirmed that figure officially.
