According to Fox News, Wray’s House appearance on Thursday afternoon before the Appropriations Subcommittee was expected to concentrate primarily on Wray’s requests for more funding and for Congress to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act ( FISA ), which enables the agency to monitor foreign nationals.
It would be difficult for me to recall a time in my career in law enforcement when threats to our common health and national security were so high all at once, Wray said. ” But that is the situation as I sit here right now. This is not a moment when we can allow up.”
” This is by no means a day to let up or contact back”, Wray added. We really need your assistance right now. We require all the tools, people, and tools to combat these threats and keep Americans healthy.
Wray urged Congress to reauthorize FISA, describing it as an “absolutely essential tool” that the organization may continue to use to “fight against international enemies.”
Harrison stated that the FISA delivery is crucial to securing our country, and that we are in critical time, with the deadline for that provision to expire on April 19.
