According to The Post Millennial, the Emerald City Hoedown was organized by the Rain Country Dance Association, which is a non- income LGBTQ+ dance organization based in the Pacific Northwest.

The LGBTQ+ party addressed issues regarding the discussion in a Facebook article, saying,” Hi y’all! We are aware of some questions about the Saturday evening performance line-up after the conclusion of another remarkable Hoedown weekend. We appreciate you taking the time to explain the situation to us and solve it with those who are directly involved. When those conversations are over, we’ll post a follow-up speech after this week.
