    Stuck on Failure at WHO

Four years have passed since COVID- 19 was first discovered and the widespread mismanagement of the virus’s unfold. The similar governments and international companies that falsely reported the most recent crisis are currently negotiating a new pandemic partnership and changes to the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations.

The main culprit has n’t changed. Beijing is now working with the Biden presidency on this new agreement, even though the Chinese Communist Party has n’t been held accountable for completely disobeying prior agreements made under the requirements or for continuing to thwart a thorough research into the roots of the COVID- 19 disease.

So obviously, the new arrangement advances China’s passions.

Subsequent documents include everything from granting the United States more control over its national sovereignty to lowering American tax revenues to lowering intellectual property rights. Yes, that’s the WHO that capitulated to the Chinese Communist Party and gave its authority over the international response in the first few months of the COVID-19 outbreak in China ( as required by the International Health Regulations ).

Even the most recent version of the contract mandates that parties provide developing nations with financial and technical support. Of course, the United States has a long, strong record of providing for assistance—President George W. Bush’s President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, or PEPFAR, is one good illustration —but for assistance has always been deliberate, not mandatory.

Unsurprisingly, China stands to benefit from these provisions intended to help “poor” countries. China is regarded as a “developing country” despite having the second-largest economy in the world.

That’s right. If the United States signs this agreement, the nation that started the COVID-19 pandemic will not only experience no negative effects from its actions, but it also stands to gain from required transfers of funds from American taxpayers.

China would also gain from the agreement’s other benefits, which include:

—Promote” sustainable and geographically diversified production” of pandemic- related products ( such as vaccines ).

Invest in expanding the capacity of developing nations and gaining access to exclusive research.

—Use the “flexibilities” of the Agreement on Trade- Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights to override patents.

Encourage rights holders to avoid paying royalties or reduce them, and take into account time-conditioning waivers of intellectual property rights.

China, notorious for its theft of intellectual property, would be sure to exploit this last privilege.

All of this would severely reduce investment in health research going forward. It would be the exact opposite incentive if we were to be prepared for a pandemic in the future.

And to make matters worse, the agreement almost entirely ignores the numerous shortcomings of the world’s current pandemic response mechanisms, including the requirement for governments to grant immediate access to international health expert teams to assess the threat of suspected outbreaks and to provide comprehensive and timely disclosure of genomic data.

Of course, overseeing sustainable and geographically diversified production, massive transfers, and distribution of up to 20 % of diagnostics, therapeutics, or vaccines during a pandemic comes with a hefty price tag. The exact amount is n’t specified, but it is sure to include several commas.

Additionally, the agreement would severely restrict Americans ‘ First Amendment freedom of speech. The willingness of governments to use the pandemic to “protect” public health and safety has proved to be strong. And this new agreement instructs governments to” cooperate, in accordance with national law, in preventing misinformation and disinformation”.

Russia and China do n’t need to be ensnared to censor speech. However, such language in an international agreement will encourage those in free nations who similarly seek to suppress unpopular opinions under the guise of preventing misinformation and disinformation.

Indeed, the World Health Organization itself seems offended by criticism. Earlier this year, WHO Director- General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said negotiations were occurring in a difficult environment, facing a” torrent of fake news, lies, and conspiracy theories”. Ironically, conservatives who backed the increasingly plausible lab leak theory were also using this argument.

In short, the new pandemic agreement should alarm all Americans.

The agreement is far more focused on redistributing income, transferring technology, and weakening intellectual property than on preventing, detecting, and responding to pandemics in the first place. It failed to address the International Health Regulations ‘ main point, which is a complete lack of enforcement, and as it is written, it is nothing short of a power grab by the Communist China-controlled World Health Organization.

Our country must vehemently reject it.
